Donations
The Humane Society for Inland Mendocino County is a non-profit organization. We do not receive funding from Mendocino County, nor are we affiliated with the national chapter of the Humane Society. We depend upon monetary contributions from our supporters to keep the shelter operating.
There are many ways to help:
Become a Member. Our Members receive our quarterly newsletter, as well as mailings announcing events such as the Annual Raffle, as well as the Mutt Strut. Participate in our Annual Fundraisers. We hold lots of fun events, including and annual raffle and other activities that are both enjoyable and raise money for the animals. You can see a list of events on thie website, as well as details on how to register. [Upcoming Events]
Make a one-time contribution. You can make a contribution to the Humane Society at any time. You can use the form below to donate through paypal (you don't need a paypal account, only a credit card!). You can also send donations by mail, and if you'd like you can let us know who you are by completing a member contribution form. [Contribution Form]
Planned Giving. There are several ways you can donate to the Humane Society for Inland Mendocino County, accomplishing your own financial goals while still generously supporting our shelter. If you have made the decision to donate in this way, the first step is to contact your financial advisor to set up the donation appropriately. Please contact us if you want this setup for you.

Bequests in Wills or Living Trusts
A bequest in your will or living trust is an uncomplicated way to help the homeless animals of Mendocino County.
A bequest may take several forms. It can be a specific sum, a percentage of your estate, or the remainder of your estate after expenses and gifts to loved ones. Bequests can include cash, securities, real estate, houses, and personal property such as valuable collections, art, or jewelry.
Living trusts are a popular choice because the terms of a living trust, unlike a will, can be put into effect immediately upon your death, bypassing probate and keeping the terms private.
Charitable Gift Annuities
Charitable gift annuities, or CGA's, are one of the oldest and most reliable charitable tools available for senior citizens. A CGA is simply a contract between you and The Humane Society for Inland Mendocino County.
You transfer cash, real estate, or marketable securities (e.g., stock, bonds, mutual fund shares, etc.) to HSIMC and, in exchange, HSIMC pays you a guaranteed fixed income for life on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis. By transferring these assets, you are giving a gift to the shelter and purchasing an annuity at the same time. The amount of the annuity income depends on the size of your gift and your age. The larger your gift and the older you are, the more income you will receive and the greater your tax deduction will be.
